يملك الأمازون أكبر حوض تصريف في العالم بمـساحة تُقدر بـ 7,050,000 كم² ، أي ما يعادل خُـمس إجمالي تـدفق الأنـهار فـي العـالم. و 40% من قارة أميركا الجنوبية.

أما دول حوض الأمازون فهي : البرازيل ، بوليفيا ، الإكوادور، كولومبيا ، غيانا ، غويانا الفرنسية ، بيرو ، سورينام ، فنزويلا

ويصل أقصى عمق لنهر الأمازون حوالي 100 متر
وتصب مياهه بكم هائل في المحيط الأطلسي، ويمد الأمازون محيطات العالم بحوالي 20% من إجمالي حجم المياه العذبة.

تحتوي غابات الأمازون المطيرة على ما يزيد عن ٤٠٠٠٠ نوع من النباتات ، وتعيش بمنطقة الأمازون مجموعات متنوعة من الحيوانات، وما يزيد عن ١٥٠٠ نوع من الطيور في الغابات.
The Amazon Rainforest has more than 40,000 species of plants and over than 1500 species of birds in the forest
وبين الأغصان وعلى ضفاف النهر تعيش أفعى الأناكوندا التي قد يصل طولها إلى حوالي تسعة أمتار, بالإضافة إلى أنواع أخرى من الثعابين. ويضم إقليم الأمازون حيوانات أخرى مثل آكل النمل , والكسلان , واليغور , والتابير وتمساح الكايمن وخنزير الماء.
The anaconda snake, which can grow approximately up to nine meters long, lives among the branches and the banks of the river, along with other species of snakes. So many animal species can also be found such as Anteater, Sloth, Jaguar, Tapirs, Caiman Crocodiles, and Capybara
تعيش على ضفاف الأمازون وروافده العديد من الشعوب والسكان الأصليين حياةً تقليدية تفتقر للكثير من الضروريات في زمننا الحاضر ، وحتى “أعيش” هذه التجربة قررت قضاء ٣ أيام برفقة إحدى القبائل هناك.
So many tribes are living on the banks of the Amazon River. Many of these original peoples still survive by relying on natural resources. To experience life there, I decided to spend 3 days with one of these tribes living there

These tribes are still living total isolated lives deep in the jungle, unaware of modern life and have no contact with anyone in mainstream society
